A Commitment to Accountability and Lasting Change
Our Domestic Violence Intervention Program is designed specifically for men who have engaged in abusive, controlling, or violent behaviors in intimate relationships. Whether participation is court-ordered, referred by an agency, or voluntary, our program provides a structured environment focused on accountability, personal responsibility, and lasting behavioral change.
Domestic violence is more than physical violence. It can include intimidation, threats, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, isolation, economic abuse, stalking, and other controlling behaviors. Our program helps participants recognize these behaviors, understand their impact on partners and children, and develop healthier alternatives.
Throughout the program, participants explore:
The dynamics of domestic violence and coercive control
Personal responsibility and accountability
The impact of abuse on partners, children, and families
Healthy relationship skills
Respectful communication
Conflict resolution and problem-solving
Empathy and emotional awareness
Decision-making skills
Strategies for preventing future abusive behavior
Healthy parenting practices and the effects of domestic violence on children
What Participants Learn
Our Approach
Our groups follow standards established for certified domestic violence intervention programs in Wisconsin. The program is not anger management. Instead, it focuses on identifying patterns of power, control, and abusive behavior while helping participants build safer and healthier ways of relating to others.
Participants are expected to:
Attend regularly
Actively participate in group discussions and activities
Accept responsibility for their behavior
Complete assigned work
Comply with all program expectations and treatment agreements
Our facilitators provide a respectful but challenging environment where participants are encouraged to examine beliefs and behaviors that contribute to abuse and to develop strategies for meaningful change.
Safety First
Survivor and family safety are central to everything we do. We recognize that participation in treatment does not guarantee that abuse will stop and that change takes time and commitment. Our program maintains policies designed to support accountability and promote safety for all involved.
Assessment and Enrollment
Before entering the program, participants complete an assessment process to help determine treatment needs, identify risk factors, and ensure the program is appropriate for their situation. The assessment explores factors such as relationship history, patterns of abuse, substance use, mental health concerns, and other issues that may affect treatment
